As the lead UX/UI Designer for Grata in the UX Cabin team, I strategically integrated new features into the existing design framework while addressing immediate client needs amidst plans for an extensive redesign. My mission was to maintain Grata's competitive edge in the lead sourcing market, navigating the challenges of rapid feature deployment and design integrity.
Position: Lead UX/UI Designer
Responsibilities: I analyzed and adapted Grata's current UI framework, integrating new features to maintain a smooth user experience. I conducted comprehensive UI audits, used user feedback to inform design decisions, and created high-fidelity prototypes and detailed design mockups to facilitate a clear handoff to the development team.
I spearheaded the integration of crucial features— Pipeline Views, Conferences, Lists and Labels, and Enhanced Search—prioritizing user engagement while preparing for a platform-wide redesign. Collaborating with UX Cabin, we ensured Grata remained agile, meeting immediate needs without compromising on future vision.
Started with a thorough UI audit to align with Grata's existing framework. This involved dissecting the current design to understand its structure and how new features could be integrated without disrupting the user experience. We utilized user feedback to prioritize functionalities that addressed user needs effectively.

With a clear understanding of Grata's framework and a roadmap for integration, we turned our focus to the detailed design of each feature. This phase was characterized by iterative development, user feedback integration, and continuous refinement to align with Grata's strategic objectives.
The Pipeline View was developed as a dynamic kanban board to help Grata's users manage their deal-making processes more effectively. The design focused on providing clear, actionable insights and ensuring ease of navigation and interaction, thereby boosting the strategic capabilities of Grata’s users.
Pipeline view final design
We improved the Pipeline View by adding custom fields and list memberships to company cards. Users can now toggle between expanded and collapsed views at different levels to address potential issues with larger card sizes.

We updated the Conferences feature to provide more detailed event-related information, such as NAICS sectors and exhibitors, alongside existing details like event name, description, and location. Users gained the ability to sort and bookmark events of interest, significantly enhancing engagement.

The Lists feature, a central aspect of Grata’s functionality, was expanded to include labels. These labels allowed users to tailor attributes, statuses, and phases as needed. The update required a flexible design to accommodate the creation, configuration, and usage of labels across various touchpoints, ensuring robust functionality for current and future needs.

The NAICS Lookup feature was redesigned to streamline the search experience for users seeking companies by sector. The update introduced an intuitive dropdown menu, improving the ease of searching hierarchical NAICS codes. Enhanced search results now include titles, descriptions, and breadcrumb paths, simplifying navigation through complex data structures and enhancing the overall search process.

The enhancements contributed significantly to Grata’s platform, with features like the Conferences seeing a fourfold increase in user engagement post-update. Our work not only improved the functionality of Grata’s application but also ensured that the platform remained competitive and responsive to user needs.
